UPCOMING FUN EVENT AT BASSITT AUTO!

March 4, 2010

WELCOME BACK TO OUR BLOG! It’s Patrice here, Bassitt Auto’s ”Girl in the Shop,” with our mascot “Noodles” in our 1959 vintage Edsel Ranger, to tell you about an Exciting Upcoming Event at Bassitt Auto Co!

We’re planning a fun spring event for all our customers and friends! In April, on Saturday the 10th, we’ll be hosting an OPEN HOUSE that will feature tours of our shop and demonstrations & explanations of common repairs.

We’ll also have the Oregon Bassett Hound Rescue association at our OPEN HOUSE! Here’s your chance to find out about adoptable Bassett hounds and to see some of the pups in person!

There’ll be cake and coffee for everyone, prizes & games, and everyone attending will receive a Bassitt Auto GIFT CARD valid for any service we offer! Food, fun and money—how can you beat that for a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! This event is for the whole family, so be sure to bring the children and your four legged family members! Complimentary dog biscuits for all dogs!

Mark your calendars, and keep checking this site for more updates as Saturday, April 10th gets closer.

Now, if you’re planning a driving get-away for Spring Break, be sure to let us check your vehicle and make sure it’s road worthy. We offer a “Peace of Mind” total vehicle condition inspection and report for just such occasions! Book your car’s check-up now, on-line at our main website  www.bassitt.com, or call us at 503-645-8352.

Safe travels to everyone! See you on the Road!

Welcome to the Bassitt Auto NEW blog page!

January 25, 2010

As the official “Girl in the Shop” I’d like to welcome you to Bassitt Auto Co.’s

website! That’s me, Patrice, in BAC’s 1959 Edsel Ranger classic car!

The crew and I will be posting all sorts of useful and entertaining information here every day—such as safe winter driving tips (keep reading!); vehicle maintenance info; classic cars in the shop; and more news from the auto repair industry. Be sure to check in often and stay up to date on the antics of our shop mascot, Speedbump the Bassett Hound (aka Noodles—she makes her home with our technician Frank)—here’s Frank with Noodles in our Bassitt Auto “family” Christmas card photo!

Now, for some “Safe Winter Driving Tips!”

It’s the first winter season of the new decade. Make sure you and your car stay safe while driving in hazardous winter weather. Start by checking your car’s overall condition. Here’s how:

o Inspect windshield wipers, clean or replace as needed.

o Check windshield washer fluid reservoir; fill as needed with de-icer fluid.

o Inspect tire condition, including air pressure.

o Make sure your radiator hoses are in good shape and coolant (anti-freeze) levels are adequate.

o Check your vehicle’s heater and defroster to make sure they are properly working.

o Test all lights—head, tail and bright lights, fog lights if you have them—and all interior lights.

Remember, we can do all of the above for you, while you relax in our ‘50’s Diner-style waiting room, enjoying complimentary hot cocoa or cappuccino! Watch for our next post where we’ll share safe winter driving tips.

Remember, a properly maintained vehicle makes a happy driver!
